BF:BC2 Stats

BF:BC2 Stats is an iPhone companion app for the popular Battlefield: Bad Company 2 video game. Sold through Apple’s AppStore, the software allows users to sync and monitor in-game statistics data using their iPhone or iPod Touch.

Lotus Leaf Communications

Lotus Leaf Communications required a modern, corporate rework of the visitor interface to reflect the firm’s identity and target market. The redesign also called for a functional and multipurpose backend focusing on usability for company staff.

A Higher Plane

A Higher Plane is a construction company that was looking for a design reflecting their focus on woodworking and sustainability. The backend makes it simple to upload new photos and add descriptions, and we put together some screencast tutorials to make updating the site easier.

Fashionotes

Fashionotes is a web-based fashion magazine. Content is easily added and updated by company staff, automating many of the features that make for a streamlined user experience. The interface was designed in collaboration with Moxie Creative.

Toodledo Tasks

Toodledo Tasks (formerly ToodleChrome) is an extension for ChromeOS and the Google Chrome web browser. It provides users with quick access to their Toodledo task lists and displays a customizable badge indicating the number of tasks due.

Cultural Shifts

Cultural Shifts is a user-driven online space created to bring together artists, researchers, poets, and writers. The site required a complex content management system for posting new content, while also making it easy for visitors to find relevant articles or artwork.

Tobin Grimshaw Photography

Tobin Grimshaw Photography and Tobin Grimshaw Weddings required an effective way to display long horizontal strips of photos. A minimalist design based on Ajax was selected to emphasize the visual work being displayed.

While the above represents samples of web design and development through CovertOps, I am also active in many Drupal-based projects with various organizations and companies - some of which include the Canadian Mental Health Association, Transfair Canada, IDRC, Women's Learning Partnership, CUPE National, Octopus Books and Doc Space. Some of my print media undertakings include layout design and copy editing work for Sun Media newspapers and graphic design for various clothing companies.

Working closely with community groups, non-governmental organizations and small businesses, I give workshops and training tutorials on the fundamentals of web content management systems, online-based organizational tools, and effective promotional material design.
